Robotic surgery on permanent display
In 2019, the Science Museum in London approached Professor Qureshi for permission to use footage of him operating with the da Vinci robotic surgical system as part of a permanent educational display in its Medicine Galleries.
The footage is shown on a touchscreen display, helping visitors understand how a da Vinci robotic system works in an operating theatre. The Science Museum operates as a charity with free entry, and the display is intended purely for public education, with no commercial use of the material.

Dear Professor Qureshi,
Thank you so much for your time with regard to giving your clearance for the Museum’s use of footage to show you operating using the da Vinci robotic system.
The edit would be shown on a 21″ touchscreen. It is important for visitors to be able to see how a da Vinci robotic system works in an operating theatre, as the example of display will remain static for the lifetime of the Medicine Galleries.
There would be no commercial gain from the use of the material and the intention would be to use it only within this educational display. It would be viewable only by visitors to the museum and would not be used elsewhere. The Museum operates as a charity and makes no charge on entry.
The galleries are permanent and as such we would need to know that you are happy for us to use the material for at least 25 years.
Thank you so much for your time and help, it really is very appreciated and I hope that between us we can source the material.
Best wishes
